Religion / *don't Stop That Helping Hands!!!* by HenryGee2310(m): 11:22 am On 5 May 2019
*DON'T STOP THAT HELPING HANDS!!!*

He lived on me during our undergraduate days because his parents were poor.

My family didn't mind, in fact he had the key to my room, he could come in any time like our child.

He respected me so much, we were so closed.

After our Youth Service, I travelled to America for further studies, my parents have the means.

Before long I settled in America, his letters started coming in, asking about life in America and telling me about difficult life in Nigeria.

I thought to myself, it's better I severe relationship with this poor guy, before he started asking me to bring him to America.

Haven't I done enough in his life?

Let him go and sort himself out.

I finally severed the relationship.

I didn't allow him to have access to me again.

Not long, I heard he has become PA to a Medical Doctor, good for him.

In no time the Medical Doctor became a Governor and sponsored him to the State House of Representative.

He became Speaker, then he became Governor of the State.

While still struggling in America it dawned on me that I have missed it, a friend God gave me to assist and yet I stopped.

We would have ruled the State together baring the respect he had for me.

My dear friend, this is a true life story I have just shared with you.

*Who you are helping today?*

*May be the one to help you tomorrow.*

You might be indirectly taking care of your tomorrow.

*Who is that you are helping, don't stop, don't malign the person.*

*Whatever the situation and circumstances of your family and friends, don't neglect them in times of need.*

*Even, if you don't have money, you should have words that comfort them.*

*Some people only need that to forge on in life,*

*Just be a blessing to everyone that cross your paths*

*Nothing Is Permanent In This Life*
*No condition is permanent in this world. Be humble.*

So my beloved whatever position you are today use it positively, tomorrow may not be yours but someone else’s, it is the measure you met on them today you get tomorrow, so live life with the fear of God

Religion / God Is Always Working For Us. by HenryGee2310(m): 11:20 am On 5 May 2019
Pls read this....
Once there was a young girl who decided to take a short cut home from school. The fastest way to her house was to cut through an alley. The girl approached the alley way.

She saw a man standing like he was waiting for someone. She said a prayer: "Dear God, please lead me through this alleyway, safe and unharmed. Amen!"

The girl walked through the alley and past the man. Later on that night the girl decided to watch the news. She saw that man had raped and murdered a young girl.

The police said the man told them another girl had passed through the alley 10 minutes before. When they asked him why he hadn't attacked the first girl, he said that there was a man walking beside her.

God walks with us. We deny His presences but He is always there. 95% of people will just read this and shut their phones, but be among the 5% that will read and send to friends. Don't be ashamed to admit you're a child of God.

Sorry, I had no choice I am a child of God! This is a test to see who has more followers, God or Satan.
If God, forward to ten people,
if Satan, close the phone.

Let me pray for you:
1) You'll find favor with
someone you don't expect,
Amen!
2) You'll be too relevant to be
ignored, Amen!
3) You'll encounter God and
will never remain the
same, Amen!
4) The grace for completion
will come on you, you shall
be blessed till the blessed
call you blessed, Amen!
5) The hand that will send this
message to others shall
not labor in vain, Amen!
6) The mouth saying 'Amen'
to this prayer shall laugh
forever, Amen!

Very soon, and I say, very very soon, GOD is going to do a miracle and lift you up for GOOD.

World Politics / *a Human Farm Discovered In Libya * by HenryGee2310(m): 11:15 am On 5 May 2019
Copied.

* A HUMAN FARM DISCOVERED IN LIBYA*.

THE TROOPS OF MARECHAL HAFTAR HAVE RELEASED MORE THAN 2,500 AFRICANS (men women and children and babies) in a very strange farm.

All these Africans were locked in small cages limiting their movements like wild beasts. They were all in a bad state.

Some had no eyes and all bore stigmata of gross surgery.

The story of these poor devils is beyond any understanding.

It's the farm of horrors. The paroxysm of horror. The worst was again crossed. The most extreme barbarism, worthy of hell executed by incarnate demons.

No human being can commit such atrocities to other human beings and rest easy.

With the blessing of the European Union, they created the black market of all parts of the human body. They ruled that the black people are from the human body.

Without taking the trouble to give them the slightest anesthesia, doctors take from them the organs that the rich Western clientele needs. We are sequestering human beings.

They are denied their humanity and locked up in cages as a reserve for the needs of Western medicine.

An abominable booming business in the Middle East. Human farms are becoming more numerous.

A black kidney now costs $ 262,000 (131 million CFA francs); the heart costs $ 119,000 (60 million CFA francs) and the liver costs $ 157,000 (79 million CFA francs).

African and African. Love each other. Let us protect ourselves.

Let's take care of each other. Let us learn to love human life more than material and perishable things.

We have come naked and will leave us naked, because everything is vanity.

The black people are the target of the worst predators of humanity according to a Machiavellian agenda.

The Arabs are, and have always been in history, the executor of the dirty work of the West.

They despise us but want our organs and our dear melanin, the heavenly mantle of the universe.

Our enemy is not our opposite.

Our enemy today is the same as yesterday who erased the khemet civilization (Ancient Egypt).

History repeats itself because we have learned nothing from the past.

We extended the other cheek to our gravediggers. And they put the turbo to erase us from the planet.

No to the exile of Africans. No to immigration.

Today the worm has penetrated the fruit and devours it from within.
Our enemy smiles at us but stabs us in the back.

He is the leprosy and the cancer of humanity.

Marshal HAFTAR's troops found the sum of two billion dollars in cash in this appalling place.

Faced with the silence of the Western press and the African leaders in front of the dismantling of this macabre network, inform the whole family in Africa. Go to the radios and make posters to tell young people not to go to Arab countries. This is the journey of death.

For these people, blacks are insects. A lower race that must be eradicated.

Share to expose these criminals. *

Mr John arrives church 5mins after Sunday school...

Elder Emeka noticed him but didn't ask till after service...

Immediately after the brethren said the grace, he walked up to Mr John and said...

John my brother how far, you came to church late today and I didn't even see your kids in church, what happened?

Ahhh elder Emeka it's well ooo

No no bro John don't tell me it's well when it's not well, what happened? Why were you late to church and your family didn't even come?

OK elder, I have serious financial challenges, we didn't even eat throughout yesterday cos there's nothing at home...

I left house around 7am trekking to church, I trekked for 2hrs to arrive here around 9am after the Sunday school...

After explaining in tears, elder John held his shoulder and says, it's well like you said my brother, the Lord will surely provide...

He continues his sermon, there are too many others who once passed through same thing, their situation has changed now, this Buhari's government is very hard, Jisike my brother...

He walks away, he has not less than 5000 naira in his pocket...

At home they have one bag of rice they just opened and over 45 tubers of yam...

They have beverages and they have money saved in the bank...

Bro John trekked back home, sweating and hungry to meet his hungry wife and kids...

Brethren the last time I checked, it's well is not an ingredients for cooking soup...

The Lord will provide is not a painter of rice...

Jisike can not refill gas cylinder at home...

Yet we call ourselves the image of God...

We forgot that God who we claim to be his image is love and love is giving...

What will it take you to share what you have with your brethren ?

Some of you have kids in schools that pay fees in dollars yet the man sitting close to you in church can't even send his kids to a local school in town...

If only the early church in acts of the apostles will be given the opportunity to watch us for five minutes, they will weep because this is no more the foundation they laid...

Our love for money have over shadowed our love for our fellow human...

It seems the part of the Bible which says if you can't love your brother you see, how can you love God you can't see has been deleted from our bibles ...

Oh that our hearts will be revived to love and show love again...

The death in church today would have reduced...

If only we can be like Jesus and stop deceiving ourselves...

If only we can show mercy ...

If only we can show love today and not tell love...

Ponder on these things...

God is love and love is giving.

You can be in Deeper Life Bible Church and your life can still be shallow and deep in sin.

You can attend The Redeemed Christian Church of God and yet your life remains unredeemed.

You can be a member of Winner's Chapel and still be a slave to sin, fulfilling all it's lusts till you die.

You can be in Mountain of Fire Ministries and your life is still in the valley of lukewarmness and Spiritual coldness.

You can be among The Salvation Army and still suffer defeat; not knowing what it means to be saved from sin.

You can be in Christ Embassy and still be working directly as Satan's Immoral Ambassador in his evil embassy.

You can be In Dunamis and yet you remain powerless Spiritually, lacking basic Grace.

You can attend The Lord's Chosen Church and yet be among the rejected many.

You can speak in tongues and miss Heaven.
You can "Win Souls" and miss Heaven.
You can see Vision and miss Heaven.
You can cast out Devil and miss Heaven.
You can perform Miracles and still miss Heaven.
You can read the whole Bible and miss Heaven.

Romance / Secret Of A Woman. by HenryGee2310(m): 06:36 pm On 5 May 2019
SECRET OF A WOMAN.

At one time, a newly married young man was shouting at his 20 years old wife and his father called him aside and said to him, 'We only shout at people our shouts or threats can frighten. But not to your wife.
The way you are shouting, you are giving away your power to your wife. Your threats make her stronger. Most men believe that when a woman is threatened, she gets subdued, but women are not changed with fear.

A woman may stay quiet when a man is threatening and shouting at her but she is not sitting down inside her. She is evaluating the man's weakness and how to subdue him rather.

Cast your mind back to those days men used to beat their wives flippantly at slightest provocations, today most of those men are older and they suffering consequences

Those women their husband were beating years back are the ones enjoying the marriage with their children today, the mothers have their children's sympathy, the men are at the receiving end.

Let it become clear to men that the way into a woman's heart is not to try to threaten and subdue her. God spoke to men and said, 'Husbands, love your wife'. Do you need an elaborate explanation of this scripture? Love makes women weak. When you truly love a woman and show it, she will submit to you without qualms. But when a woman has sensed that she is just like your toy, you just want to use her or you are domineering and controlling, the spirit of rebellion takes over her. She might not physically stand on your way but she is plotting coup against you and one day, you will sit and watch her and her children force you to follow their rules or die quicker.

Almost all the great and fierce kings you know died before their wives. They lived all through their lives threatening their fellow men and wives. They were able to kill most of their strong fellow men but all the women they threatened stayed alive. Women know how to survive against men.

The 'lion' in men does not scare women or get them to submit to you, it is love that conquers a woman, not force or threats. This might subdue fellow men, but not your wife. Women naturally know how to survive pains. They can walk to the fearful serpent and make their demands. They have resilient spirit.

There are things women fear but not the lion inside men. They can submit and respect their men so foolishly that you imagine that there is no gut inside them. They have guts men don't have, love your woman into submission.
Men don't have compatible or cordial relationship with women by showing the lion inside them. God knew women before us and begged that we show love than threats. He gave men the formula, recipe for a blissful, joyous and fulfilled homes, LOVE YOUR WIFE!

This formula of loving your wife will help you win her. When a woman is loved, you break all her guts and she stays in your hands. A woman can do anything to stay with a man who is honestly in love with Her.

Talk gently to your wife, love her, pet her, don't shout at her, and you will win her and make your points!

Do not arrogantly display your weakness as a man by shouting.

Things All Muslims Must Avoid During Ramadan FastingBy Mod - 2019-05-06 23:13:42 - [ Update Religion ]

Ramadan Kareem to all Muslims on Naijaloaded.

As we go forth into the Holy Month, we pray Allahaccept our fasting as act of Ibaadah.

To make our fasting reach the heavens, there is need to abstain from these ten things as a Muslim.

1. Control Your Look/ What You See

Purity of the mind and soul is encouraged in the holy month; hence, Muslims are advised to watch how they look at the opposite s*x during Ramadan.

Looking at the opposite s*x without caution could pollute the mind.

2. Do Not Smoke

Smoking is highly prohibited during Ramadan. The act is a subject of controversial debates in Islam, with some scholars suggesting that it should be avoided totally in everyday life.

It is however not accepted in whatever form during fasting.

3. Avoid Alcohol, Wild Parties

Alcoholic drinks are highly forbidden in Islam. During Ramadan, it is pointless saying that it is not accepted because it’s not even acceptable at all.

So as a Muslim who drinks alcohol, it must be stated that it is totally prohibited in the month of Ramadan. Don’t go near it or even taste it at all.

4. Avoid Eating Too Much

Fasting makes Muslims feels the pain of hunger so they can know how the needy feels. Most times, the urge to eat much food to make up for the long hours of fasting pushes people into eating excessively when they break.

This is totally wrong and Muslims should avoid this.

5. Do Not Be Lazy/Inactive

Muslims are not expected to stay idle all day because they are fasting.

Laziness is not encouraged in the holy month as fasting is no excuse to remain unproductive. So during Ramadan, get up and go get the needful done. Don’t just sit down and be looking helpless.

6. Avoid Meaningless, Non-productive Engagements

As much as Islam advises Muslims to be active during Ramadan, it does not encourage involvement in baseless activities at all.

Muslims are expected to limit their engagement with things of the world during Ramadan and engage in lots of Ibadah – acts of worship.

7. Do Not Hold Grudges

Islam is a religion of peace and it is expected that Muslims should reconcile with people against whom they hold grudges even outside Ramadan.

It is doubly so in Ramadan as doing otherwise could invalidate one’s fasting during the Holy month. So, go resolve that quarrel with everyone you are having issues with else your fasting won’t be accepted by Allah.

8. Do Not ‘Socialize‘ Too Much

The advent of the Internet and the proliferation of Social media have changed how people live their lives. Many Nigerians, the youth especially, spend long hours on the Internet engaging in frivolous conversations.

Ramadan should be a time for sober reflection and lots of Ibadah. So, close Instagram, Facebook and other Social media that can void your fasting as you might stumbled upon horrible images or video any time while surfing.

9. Avoid Sleeping Too Much

While it is not a crime to sleep in the holy month, Muslims are enjoined to spend a significant part of the month observing prayers and reciting the Quran – day and night.

Many Muslims are fond of sleeping for long hours during Ramadan just to while away the time so they can break. This is not acceptable in islam.

10. Avoid s*x Related Conversations

Adult talks and lewd conversations are rampant today, especially on the internet. A Muslim is expected to be decorous in the Holy month (and beyond) by avoiding lewd, immoral talks or acts.

The End!

Breaking!!! Governor Akeredolu And Tinubu Meet, Resolve To Work TogetherBy Mod - 2019-05-06 11:03:50 - [ Update Politics ]

The crisis rocking the Ondo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC may come to an end soon as Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu may have finally reconciled with the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Akeredolu and Tinubu fell out in 2016 over the latter’s endorsement of Olusegun Abraham in the September 3, 2016 APC governorship primary in Ondo state. Akeredolu eventually won the primary and was subsequently elected governor of Ondo state without Tinubu’s backing.

Though Tinubu later made a surprise appearance at Akeredolu’s inauguration, the two men have not really been friends. The move to reconcile Tinubu and the Ondo helmsman was initiated by a former APC national vice chairman southwest, Chief Pius Akinyelure who had made several attempts to bring the duo together but had suffered setbacks until late last week when Akeredolu flew to Abuja to honor Akinyelure’s invitation to meet with the former Lagos governor.

Reporters gathered that the two men met, expressed their grievances and resolved to work together in the overall interest of the party. At the end of the meeting, Tinubu assured Akeredolu that “the war was over” and tasked him on the need to reconcile all different tendencies in the Ondo APC.

On his part, Akeredolu thanked Asiwaju Tinubu and promised to work for the unity of the party.

*THE HEAD DOCTOR*

In England in 1920 there was a graduation ceremony for a batch of new doctors.
It was attended by the British Prime Minister of that time.
During the ceremony, the head doctor who was in charge of that batch, gave the necessary advice to these new graduates.
He told them the following incident which happened with him sometimes back:
"It was after midnight, and I heard a knock on my door.
It was an old lady, and she said to me: 'O my doctor, my child is sick and in a very serious condition, so please do something to save him.

I rushed out to follow her to her house without worrying what will happen.
Because it was a stormy night, and very cold. The rain was pouring down very heavily. I did not fear for my life.

Her house was on the outskirts of London, and after a difficult journey, we reached her house.
She lived in a small room with her son.
When I entered the room, I saw her son at the corner of this room groaning and deeply in pain.

After I did my duty towards the sick child, the mother gave me a small bag with money.
I refused to take this bag and I told her gently that I can't accept that payment, because I felt sorry for their situation.
Then I promised her that I will take care of her child until he gets better."
The head doctor continued in his speech by saying: "This is the true profession of medicine, and being a doctor is the closest profession to mercy and one of the closest to God"

As soon as the head doctor finished his speech, the Prime Minister jumped out of his seat and headed to the podium.
"Permit me Sir, to kiss your hand.
For twenty years now and I am looking for you. I am the child you mentioned in your story just now.
Oh, my mother will be happy now and she will rest in peace. Her only wish was for me to find you and to reward you, for that goodness you did for us at the time we were living in poverty."

That poor child who became the Prime Minister of England was:
*"Lloyd George"*

Plant goodness wherever you go, even if it is not on your place. Because it will never get lost wherever you will plant it.
It is even more nice if your goodness lasts longer.
Because no one shall harvest that goodness except the one who has planted it.

Doing goodness to others will always purify your heart, and it will fight any kind of evil which comes your way.

The owner of goodness does not fall, if he falls he will fall on a pillow to comfort and support him.

May God Make us among the people who always do good to others.

From begging to banditry: Revolt of the almajiris

ON APRIL 28, 2019

By Dele Sobowale

“No revolution is the fault of the people but the fault of the government.”—Johann Goethe, 1749-1832, VANGUARD BOOK OF QUOTATIONS, VBQ.

A revolution is underway in the northern states of Nigeria. The downtrodden constituting 99.9 per cent of the population, hitherto docile beggars, saying rankaindedeto the privileged 0.1 per cent, are sick and tired of begging. They are now demanding for their own share of “the national cake” to be delivered to them – at gun or cutlass points.

Nigeria will never be the same again. The North is now gradually sliding into the dictatorship of the beggars or almajiris.

As usual, Nigerian pseudo-socialists, like the original European promoters of the idea, had not expected the least developed region in this country to trigger the revolution, just as the uprising which occurred first in Russia and died there as well was wrongly predicted. Our local copy cats had been writing and talking about revolution in Nigeria on the assumption that highly educated Nigerians would lead it.

History might eventually record that the Nigerian revolution (and make no mistake about it there is one on) was spear-headed by those with nothing to lose – no job, no house, no family to speak of, and no hope.

For too long there has been ample evidence to prove that the most difficult enemy to fight is one who has nothing to lose.

The privileged class in Nigeria had been busy since 1914, and particularly since 1960, nurturing millions of fellow citizens who can only be described as people without hope living in another Nigeria from the one inhabited by their overfed leaders.

“There are only two families in the world, my old grandmother used to say, the Haves and the Have-nots.” Miguel Cervantes, 1547-1616.

It has always been a puzzle to me why leaders – Presidents, Governors, Ministers, Commissioners, party leaders – who we presumed were/are intelligent and wise could have individually and collectively failed to understand that we cannot continue to increase the number of jobless adults and children out of school without eventually reaching the breaking point. Nigeria has one of the widest income disparities in the world – less than one per cent own over seventy per cent of the wealth.

The North as a whole is the worst – with the North East and North West being the absolute worst. For as long as anybody can remember religion has been misused to get the vast majority of “have-nots” to accept their penury as an “act of Allah”.

The extremely wealthy, even if the wealth was accumulated by looting the public purse got away with robbing the masses because of the pervasive docility. Every delinquent individual readily was submissive to the privileged whose only obligation was to give pittance to the people they have robbed by way of alms giving.

A governor caught on video receiving bribe shows no remorse and even receives presidential endorsement because president and governor belong to the oppressive class. Class solidarity was always more important than justice. For over four decades since first setting foot in the North, I had wondered when the injustice would result in absolute rebellion. I was certain that the system of institutionalised serfdom could not continue for ever.

The chickens have come home to roost in the North and the revolt might spread all over the country. The former beggars have dropped their bowls and have acquired bullets and guns. They are now forcing the Haves, who have suppressed them to pay. Henceforth, it will be “Your money or your life.”

The report by DAILY TRUST a few weeks ago is revealing. The four most dangerous places to be in Nigeria today from the standpoint of kidnapping and murder are: Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna and Federal Capital Territory. President Buhari resides in two of them.

“If there is government in place, then it should listen to people and address the security challenges. We have mass burials from time to time and there is no sign that government cares about what is happening.”—Catholic Bishop of Yola, Rev. Stephen Mamza. To that query President Buhari gave an answer which is most pathetic and which tells us all we need to know about why we are in this mess and may never get out of it. Read what our leader said. Speaking through one of his echoes, we were told that “but for Buhari’s efforts, Yola and other towns in Adamawa and the rest of the Northeast would still be under the control of Boko Haram”.

Two reasons among several render that rejoinder most unpatriotic. One, there was never a time all of the North East or Yola were under the control of Boko Haram. Parts of them yes, but not the entire region. A president does need to stretch a small truth to the breaking point in order to exonerate himself. Two, on the same day that the President’s spokesman was uttering that falsehood, Nigerians were informed thus:

“Gun men kill 14 in Katsina and Benue.” Nine of the fourteen were slaughtered in Katsina State. Under Jonathan nobody was killed in Katsina State and Kaduna had not become the murder capital of Nigeria. While the Bishop was making a general observation about insecurity, Buhari and his small-minded spokesmen turned the entire problem to a political debate – APC versus PDP. With such little intellect at the top levels of government, it is easy to understand why Buhari might be the last to grasp the significance of what appears like random violence ravaging Nigeria now. Allow me to present a true account of what happened four days to Easter last week.

“The Devil finds work for idle hands.” I was in Suleija after venturing into a part of Nigeria which was once very safe but which has now become like the “lion’s den” for travellers – especially for those driving good cars and well-dressed. Not to test my luck, I had chartered an old jalopy from the Motor Park instead of the usual Camry. We stopped at a filling station to refuel and my eyes could not believe what they saw. A leading member of the National Assembly, NASS, was sitting in the back seat of a car which no panel-beater would touch. I recognised him and moved to introduce myself and to ask what was the matter with his cars?

Almost in tears, he told me he was heading for Kaduna state but he had to disguise out of fear of being kidnapped or murdered. He would enter his community at night and depart before light of dawn for safety. His family once paid ransom to kidnappers and he was not ready to go through the trauma again. He finished with words that will live long in my memory.

“The kidnappers we dealt with were all graduates. They spoke good English. They said they were all unemployed and they too must live somehow. Dr Dele, God save the North. We are in deep trouble.” He was not alone.

I know people who would spend every possible week end in their country homes in Kaduna State until a year ago. That was three years after Jonathan left office and Buhari took over. They don’t go anymore – unless it is absolutely necessary. The Governors of Zamfara and Katsina recently cried out loud that their states were under the control of bandits and kidnappers. The Presidency does not dispute those claims. The Governors of Zamfara and Katsina under Jonathan never cried all the way to Abuja that their states had been taken over by criminals. The fact that the President’s own state is under siege by gun men should have been embarrassing to the people (if that is the right word?) at Aso Rock if commonsense is still present there.

If the President’s men and women have taken any trouble to collate the crime reports daily presented by all our newspapers, they would have discovered an alarming correlation between unemployment and serious crimes in rural and urban communities. Even the murders seemingly committed for rituals have as their goal acquisition of wealth by people whose means of legitimate livelihood is not secure. The North has more of them and it is breeding them faster than any other part of the country.

“The child is the father of the man.

” William Wordsworth, 1770-1850. When in 2006, Dr Oby Ezekwesili was the Federal Minister of Education and the number of millions of children out of school was reported, any demographer could have told President Obasanjo that the bandits and kidnappers of 2019 were already with us waiting to grow up and terrorise us. The five years old boys of 2006 are now lanky eighteen years old lads; the ten years old have turned to men 23 years old. While the very young might be afraid to kidnap, rob and murder, the eighteen-plus, without parental guidance all the time, are not so squeamish. There are millions of them now. That is bad enough. Now we have a new set of future delinquents – ten to thirteen millions – out of school. Most of them will live to reach eighteen and above. Millions of their older brothers identified in 2006 will still be alive when the fresh crop of idle hands gets set to be engaged by Satan. The numbers will swell and the security forces will never be able to cope with the deluge of criminals unless we do something urgently. The problem is national.

But, the North is now experiencing a revolt of the beggars. They no longer wait patiently at the gates of the few wealthy people in their communities. They now have set about redistributing wealth by violence.

No better definition of revolution can be found anywhere. Hitherto, they were afraid of the rich and powerful. Henceforth, the privileged will be afraid of them. It is no coincidence that Kaduna-Abuja expressway has become the frontline of battle.

A good percentage of the over-pampered Northern elite travels through that route on their way to their well-appointed palaces. Next to that is Katsina. It is the home of the newly-rich. More public officials from that state had been alleged to embezzle public funds since Buhari became President than ever before.

The bandits can observe new mansions springing up and they want their share of the loot. Kidnapping will not end any time soon. Like vultures, bandits and kidnappers can literally “smell money”.

They are not even afraid of the security forces. They fight back; and they can afford to select their targets. They know the army is over-stretched and cannot be everywhere. Most important of all, they have nothing to lose. The soldier who dies in conflict with them probably has a wife and children. He really does not want to die. The bandits have nobody waiting for them at home.

That is the nature of the army which Nigerian leaders have assembled and which is now launching a full scale assault on the country – especially the North. They have thrown away the begging bowl; they now confront the rest of us with bullets and guns. We might be engaged in this war for fifty years or more.

THEY JUST CAN’T STOP LYING.

“Wherever God erects a house of prayer/ The Devil always builds a Chapel there/ And, it will be found upon examination/ The latter has a larger congregation. Daniel Defoe, 1661-1731. Buhari meant well when he tried to achieve religious balance in the appointments of his closest officials. I cannot speak about Muslims.

But, the President must have inadvertently strayed into the Devil’s chapel to select his Christian advisers. The Pastors in Aso Rock are probably the worst worshippers of Satan ever to enter the Rock. One claimed that the FG bought millions of cows to feed the kids.

Farmers wonder where he got the cattle from since none of theirs was bought. The second went to the South West saying only blind men can fail to see Buhari’s monumental achievements.

Are Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, a Professor needing no glasses, as well as everybody in attendance laughed derisively at the Aso Rock Pastor. Has shame or honour gone out of fashion in churches? Is the king of darkness the only one working full time?

OBAMA FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES HAD THIS TO SAY.

* When I think of the depth of the grave and the pounds of sand that will be thrown at us, no need to harm my brother; *
When I think of the darkness that will invade the grave after closing, no need to hurt my sister;
* When I think of the heat repressed by the soil and the amount of water that will drown me during the rains in this tomb, I can not make my neighbor suffer; *
When I think that I will be alone abandoned by all, I prefer to enjoy communion when I am alive;
* When I think that my relationships are mowed by my past, I wish to perfect my future; *
If I could be reborn to resume everything from scratch, I would no longer make mistakes in my actions.
Because after a long meditation I understood that All is vanity on earth *
May God help us to cultivate humility and the love of our neighbor because vanity of vanity, everything is vanity.

Catholic Decries The Rising Wave Of Insecurity In JalingoBy Mod -

The Catholic Diocese of Jalingo on Friday decried the rising wave of insecurity in Taraba State, calling on the government to intensify efforts towards tackling the menace.

This was part of the communique issued at the end of the 19th General Assembly of the Diocese held at St. Charles Borromeo Pastoral Centre in Jalingo,

The communiqué was jointly signed by Bishop of the Diocese, Most Rev. Charles Hammawa and Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr Anthony Nzinang.

The communiqué expressed regret over unfortunate incidents of communal and religious clashes in the state, resulting in many deaths and destruction of property.

“We condemn the present incidences of kidnapping and armed robbery in the state as well as communal and religious clashes.

“We are worried over these incidences, we call on government to intensify efforts toward stopping these crises and work out modalities for quick return of the displaced persons to their homes.

“These people who are displaced need help and government should provide relief materials to them and expedite action on their return to their homes as the new farming season begins,” the communiqué said.

It also expressed gratitude to God for the successful conduct of the elections in spite of pockets of violence in some parts of the country.

The communiqué called on Christians in politics and governance to be guided by the morals of their faith and to use their mandate for the good of all.

Expressing worry over incidents of broken marriages, the Catholic Diocese of Jalingo, in a bid to curb the problem, produced pastoral guide for proper pre and post marital catechesis.

It called on priests, religious and the lay faithful of the Diocese to ensure proper marriage catechesis and religiously implement the Pastoral Guide.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the General Assembly which began on Monday had representatives from all the Catholic parishes in the state in attendance.

Anglican Church Demands Apology From Gov. Obiano For BetrayalBy Mod - 2019-05-04 16:27:33 - [ Update PoliticsReligion ]

Anglican Diocese of Aguata in Anambra State has asked Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano to tender unreserved apology to Ndigbo for allegedly insulting the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo, in the run-up to the last general elections.

The church also demanded an apology from the Governor over what it termed open support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s reelection during the electioneering campaign.

These were contained in the Bishops Charge presented on Friday by Rt. Rev. Samuel Ezeofor at the 2nd Session of the Fifth Synod of Diocese of Aguata holding at St James Anglican Church Uga, Aguata Local Government Area of the State.

The cleric described the act as betrayal of the Igbos which, according to him, inflicted a deep wound on the people of the region.

“The insult Chief Willie Obiano laid on President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo was a betrayal of the highest order, a betrayal of the whole Igbo people, a betrayal of his own people.

“It was an insult on the whole of Igbo race and we call on him, His Excellency Chief Willie Obiano to apologize to Ndigbo.

“We do not know how Governor Obiano can explain the stance he took but may it please him to know that he wounded us so deep in his bid to stop his benefactor Sir Peter Obi.

“We also need to let the Governor know that we are not unaware of his moves against the Anglican faithful in Anambra State.”

Chancellor of the Diocese, Justice Pete Obiora commended the Bishop for his analysis of the society and courage to say things the way they were.

Religion / Character And Obedience. by HenryGee2310(m): 07:39 am On 4 Apr 2019
I don't know who authored this fantastic piece: it's powerful, full of knowledge, wisdom & educative! Please take time to read it over and over again....

YOU CANNOT GET BY PRAYER WHAT YOU SHOULD GET BY CHARACTER & OBEDIENCE

A man’s character is his fate. Heraclitus Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States (US), said: “Nothing can stop the man with the *right mental attitude* from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the *wrong mental attitude.”

As a clergyman, I have watched pitiably how people self-sabotage themselves by seeking spiritual solutions to character-deficit issues. They look around at everybody as suspects for their predicaments when their greatest demons lurks within them - their character.

What we often call our destiny is truly our character, and since that character can change, then destiny can be altered. *Character is destiny* .

Is prayer actually EVERYTHING? Many would begin to argue back and forth on this intriguing question, but my main purpose of writing this piece is not to get involved in arguments. _Arguments don’t improve the validity of a ‘truth;’ they only determine how long it would take before you realise it._

Most people believe that we can pray ourselves to success and get away with virtually anything if we become a stickler to some prayer routines. There is no amount of spiritual penance that can substitute for character. Sometimes, you need character, not prayer.

Dutch Sheets said: *“Prayer is not a check request asking for things from God; it is a deposit slip- a way of depositing God’s character into our bankrupt souls.”*

British writer and politician, Thomas Macaulay (1800-1859), said: “ *The measure of a man’s character is what he would do if he knew he never would be found out.”* I have often said that what would ultimately destroy a man going to high places in life is not really the enemies that are waiting for him there, but the character that followed him there.

I want to emphatically underline the fact that this write-up is not meant to trivialise prayers in any way. I have observed that many people take character for granted, while overzealously tuning on into their spiritual mode.

We have become so spiritually in tune through prayers that we neglect the place of character and our relationship with people. Many are actually ‘heavenly’ bound, but with no earthly relevance. You can speak with spiritual eloquence, pray in public and maintain a holy appearance, but it is your behavior and character that will actually trigger the manifestation of all that God has for you.

*You must learn to treat people with courtesy* .
The Shunammite woman must have been praying for a child all through her life. By being hospitable to a man of God, she eventually got her much-awaited miracle. *It wasn’t prayer that opened the door for her; it was her character.* Assuming she wasn’t hospitable, she would have missed a critical miracle.

Many times, we pray, fast and bind demons that don’t exist when our real demons are just our greatly flawed character. _Many have insulted people that were divinely placed and orchestrated to help them fulfil their destiny._ Some people are keeping malice with their destiny helpers.

Treat people with respect.
Treat strangers with courtesy.
Never look down on anybody. God can use anyone to change your story.

Abigail Van Buren said: “The best index to a person’s character is _how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and how he treats people who can’t fight back.”_

You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him. The way we treat people we think can’t help or hurt us, like housekeepers, waiters, and secretaries, tells more about our character than how we treat people we think are important. _How do you treat people?_

One of the most impressive architectural feats and the greatest military defence project in history is the Great Wall of China. In 1987, UNESCO designated the Great Wall a World Heritage site, and a popular controversial claim that emerged in the 20th century holds that it is the only man-made structure that is visible from space.

Originally conceived by Emperor Qin Shi Huang (c. 259-210 B.C.) in the 3rd Century B.C. as a means of preventing incursions from Mongolians and barbarian nomads into the Chinese Empire, the wall is one of the most extensive construction projects ever completed.

History has it that when the ancient Chinese decided to live in peace, they made the Great Wall of China; they thought no one could climb it due to its height. During the first 100 years of its existence, the Chinese were invaded thrice and every time, the hordes of enemy infantry had no need of penetrating or climbing over the wall, because each time, they bribed the guards and came through the doors.

The Chinese built the wall, but forgot the character - building of the wall-guards. Though the Great Wall has over the years become a powerful symbol of the country’s enduring strength and spirit, but it has actually been a good reminder to the Chinese of the superiority of human character.

The Chinese realised much later that the best defence against the enemy is not a fortified wall, but a fortified character. Thus, the building of human character comes before building of anything else.

Prayer is not EVERYTHING! Build relationships, and don’t ever forget that God will always use man. Be mindful of your words and how you speak to people. Work seriously on your character and attitude towards life.

I want to say emphatically that *character is not optional;* it is sacrosanct to the future that God has planned for you. No matter where you place prayers, character matters. *The greatest fraud in life is religion without character.* A man without character is recklessly alive.

William Shakespeare captured it succinctly when he said: *“The fault is not in our stars, but in ourselves* .”

Peter Schutz, the former chief executive officer of Porsche said: “ *HIRE CHARACTER; TRAIN SKILLS* .”

Lastly, back in the days when Germany was divided, a huge wall separated East and West Berlin.

One day, some people in East Berlin took a truck load of garbage and dumped it on the West Berlin side.

The people of West Berlin could have done the same thing, but they didn't.

Instead they took a truck load of canned goods, bread, milk and other provisions, and neatly stacked it on the East Berlin side.

On top of this stack they placed the sign:

*“EACH GIVES WHAT HE HAS"*

How very true! You can only give what you have.

What do you have inside of you?
Is it *hate* or *love* ?
*Violence* or *peace* ?
*Death* or *life* ?
*Capacity to build* or *capacity to destroy* ?

What have you acquired over the years?
*Team spirit* or *pull down* architecture ?

*"EACH GIVES WHAT HE HAS"*

Think about it!
Please give out the good in you always.

World Politics / Govt's Anti- Corruption In Buhari's Administration Now His Major Battle. by HenryGee2310(m): 07:35 am On 4 Apr 2019

Govt's Anti-Corruption In Buhari's Administration Now His Major BattleBy Mod - 6 minutes ago - [ Update Politics ]

Buhari's refusal to assent or reject a crucial audit bill passed by the country's legislature several months ago, President Muhammadu Buhari is jeopardising measures aimed at improving financial accountability and transparency among government officials and organisations.

The president's failure to sign the bill into law is at variance with his avowed fight against corruption.

Passed by the National Assembly in July 2018, the Federal Audit Service Bill seeks to empower the country's auditor-general to penalise government agencies and officials who refuse to submit their financial statement for audit.

For instance, the bill empowers the auditor-general to withhold the emoluments of defaulting officials. It even recommends jail terms for erring officials.

Whilst the president's disinterest towards the bill may be extending the lifeline enjoyed by unscrupulous officials, it is also a slap on the country's constitution.

Nigeria's 1999 Constitution provides for a 30-day period within which the president shall "signify that he assents or that withholds assent" to a bill.

The audit bill was sent to President Buhari in January, more than double the 30-day window within which the constitution expects Mr Buhari to either sign or decline assent.

The presidency refused to speak on Mr Buhari's inaction over the bill, considered key to his much-vaunted anti-corruption fight.

"I don't have information on that," presidential spokesperson Femi Adesina said of the bill when reached for comments. "Contact Senator Ita Enang (Mr Buhari's National Assembly aide)," he added.

Mr Enang, when contacted, did not deny that the bill had been sent to the president. He, however, said he would not comment on his principal's inaction.

When asked why he would not be commenting, he replied: "Just because I am unable to respond."

Senior Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters, Sen. Ita Enang speaking during his appearance on the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Forum in Abuja on Tuesday (11/9/18).

He had previously requested a day to 'compile' his response when first interviewed a day earlier.

Ineffective 'supreme' anti-corruption institution

Section 85 of 1999 Constitution empowers the office of the auditor-general of the federation to access all the books, records, returns and other documents relating to those accounts of the federation and all public offices and courts.

"The Office of the Auditor-General for the Federation (OAuGF) is the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) and the foremost statutory accountability office of Nigeria," stressed the incumbent auditor-general, Anthony Ayine, in a 2016 report, though turned in May 2018.

Despite being the country's most important institution for accountability under the constitution, the auditor-general has scarcely been an effective anti-corruption body.

For years, the auditor-general's reports have exposed cases of corrupt practices and how public officials have failed to account for public assets they are in charge of. But little or no consequences have emerged as a result of these revelations.

In its 2014 report, the auditor-general indicted the David Mark-led National Assembly for failing to account for N9.4 billion. Also, in its 2015 report, it stated that between 2013 and 2015, the police could not account for at least 44 assorted arms. Its 2016 report revealed how health officials at the Federal Medical Centre, Gusau in Zamfara State diverted N300 million meant for "health equipment".

But despite these damning indictments, hardly has anyone been held to face further investigation and possible prosecution by the security and anti-graft agencies.

Perhaps the biggest worry of the OAuGF is the flagrant disregard of its audit queries and observations by officials. To underscore the ineffectual power of the OAuGF, government agencies are increasingly refusing to submit their financial statements to the office as required by law.

Section 85 of the constitution and the Financial Regulation 321(v) enjoins heads of government offices to submit both their financial statements and management reports to the auditor-general not later than May 31 of the following year.

Perhaps officials and government agencies are disregarding the OAuGF because they know it has no legal backbone to compel them to be accountable and transparent. The most the auditor-general can do is to report erring agencies and officials to the National Assembly.

The table below illustrates the number of offices that have failed to submit their financial statements in recent years, according to the auditor-general's office.

Years Numbers of defaulting offices

2016 323

2015 215

2014 148

2013 109

2012 85

2011 76

1993-2010 12

No submission since inception 65

From the table, it appears the office continues to become less effective by the year as the number of defaulting offices continues to rise without a corresponding punishment.

"The extensive violation of statutory financial reporting obligations by parastatals is of great concern," lamented Mr Ayine in the 2016 audit report. "I am concerned about this development, which is a major setback to our accountability process. Where accounting officers fail to respond to audit queries, the implication is that they have no explanation to offer. They should be compelled by the Public Accounts Committees to comply with the audit recommendations on such issues."

For an anti-corruption activist, Suraj Olanrewaju, the current system is exacerbated by the weakness of the media and the civil society to act on the reports of the auditor-general.

"What you find is that the ultimate culprit in the whole mismanagement of the resources of the country is the National Assembly which fails in respect of its oversight responsibilities," said Mr Olanrewaju.

Proposed reforms

The Federal Audit Service Bill seeks to correct these inadequacies.

For instance, the Federal Audit Service Bill, alongside the constitutionally-granted authority of "unrestricted access" to the books of agencies, gives the auditor-general's office the power to stop the emoluments and allowances of officials who "fail or refuse to reply to audit queries within 30 days and for as long as the person(s) fail(s) to comply."

Similarly, the bill also empowers the auditor-general to summon "a person to give evidence orally or in writing" in the course of "discharging or performing his duties." And where a person so summoned fails to appear without a reasonable excuse, the "auditor-general may issue a warrant to the police for his arrest."

The bill further gives the auditor-general the authority to conduct audit inspection of non-statutory bodies and international institutions to the extent of Nigeria's financial contributions to these organisations. This provision, if the bill is assented to by the president, would compel such bodies as the Nigeria Football Federation, which receive part of their funding from the public treasury, to open their books and be accountable in line with the country's finance-handling system - at least to the extent of the funds they receive from the government.

The bill also stipulates that the failure to turn in financial statement of the federation by June 30 of the following year or that of the ministries, departments, and agencies within 90 days of the end of a financial, affected officials "shall be personally liable to a fine of not less than N500 thousand or two-year imprisonment or both."

The bill gives the auditor-general the authority to refer cases of fraud to the police for further investigation and possible prosecution

Perhaps, the most significant difference the bill seeks to make is spelling out consequences for breaching the law thereby creating deterrence against non-compliance.

A civil society leader, Idayat Hassan of the Centre for Democracy Development, underscored this point in an email response to PREMIUM TIMES.

"The passage of the audit bill is the most important development that can happen in the Buhari' administration fight against corruption," said Ms Hassan in an email to PREMIUM TIMES. "It does not only capacitate the government to monitor MDAs' spendings but reduces the leakages in the governance structure."

Idayat Hassan, Director Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD)

She continued, "Presently, the auditor general's office work but the MDAs often fail to submit reports and even the Public Account Committees (of the National Assembly) fail to review and sanction erring MDAs."

If the bill becomes law, Nigeria could get to evolve institutional measures to check public organisations, such as the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporations, which operate opaquely.

In the 2016 auditor-general's report, the NNPC was said to have failed to provide information on "how and where the asset values of investments in joint ventures on behalf of the Federation are determined and reported." This was different from not providing "necessary details" of domestic crude lifting sales.

Mr Ayine, in his 2016 report, said his office "is also eagerly awaiting the passage of the Federal Audit Service Bill into law. The need for an Audit Law has been apparent for several years," he said.

"This situation is worrisome," he continued, "and puts Nigeria far behind many other African countries in terms of its commitment to accountability and transparency in public finances."

He made these remarks in May 2018, at the time he submitted the 2016 report, the most recent, to the National Assembly. By that time, both arms of the National Assembly had passed the bill and were only requiring harmonisation. But while the bill has scaled all legislative hurdles and been with the presidency for several months, it is yet to be considered for assent by Mr Buhari; neither has he rejected it or given room for the bill to be reviewed.

Mr Olanrewaju said, "it is left for the National Assembly to take appropriate steps," for instance, considering a veto since the president is now exceeding statutory time allowance within which he is to act on a bill passed by the National Assembly.

The spokesperson for the House of Representatives, Abdurazaq Namdas, did not comment when contacted. He also did not respond to further call and text.

However, apart from strengthening the independence of the auditor-general's office, the bill also seeks to establish the federal audit service commission, thereby creating a new bureaucracy.

NNU learn that the presidency may not be favourably disposed to signing the bill into law because of the independence and powers sought for the office of the auditor-general.

"The president should not use the excuse of new bureaucracies to be created by the passage of the bill but focus on the defects the bill seeks to cure," said Ms Hassan. "The auditor-general's office needs independence to work and cannot continue to function as an MDA," she said.

Shocking: Price Boko Haram Fighters Are Usually Paid For Terrorism Daily Is Up To $3,000 (N1075470.00)By Mod - 11 minutes ago - [ Update Crime ]

Dr. Sidi Ali Mohammed member of the Presidential Committee on the North East Initiative (PCNI) has disclosed Boko Haram fighters were being paid $3,000 (N1075470.00) daily.

He made this disclosure at the Presentation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Sub-Sahara Africa’s Economic Outlook Report, in Abuja on Monday.

According to him, the payment dwarfs the N1, 000 daily allowances paid to Nigerian troops at the war front.

Mohammed, who is the Head of the Humanitarian Assistance and Rehabilitation arm of the PCNI, lamented that Boko Haram has been hijacked and operates like a cartel.

“I will give you an example. The Nigerian military, for example, gets N1, 000 per day for being in the North East, at the war front, as an allowance.

“The same North East, where if you are a member of Boko Haram you get $3,000 per day as allowance. So it is lucrative.

“Sometimes they even give you money upfront. So we must do something about the youths from where they are recruiting.”

On how to tackle the insurgency, he said: “If it is amnesty that will guarantee that peace, then we have to think of it.

“Most importantly, we need to deplete the army of youths on the streets and take them away from the streets so that Boko Haram does not recruit them.

“Don’t forget, they (Boko Haram members) are being killed on a daily basis but they are also recruiting on a daily basis. They are getting people to recruit because it is lucrative.”

He went on: “Part of the reason why this problem has refused to go away is the abundant natural resources in the Lake Chad Region. We need to think outside the box. It is now more like a cartel.

“When you see the type of weapons they use, it is more sophisticated than the type of weapons that our military are using.”

He further stated the Boko Haram menace “is like guerilla warfare. As we are here discussing, if somebody here is a member of Boko Haram, he will not say anything.

“He goes out there to strategize and comes back. It, therefore, means the conventional ways of fighting warfare cannot work here. It, therefore, calls for thinking outside of the box.”

The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, Monday, warned Petroleum Tanker Drivers under the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, in the Niger Delta area against product’s diversion and collusion with illegal oil bunkerers.

Magu, it was learnt gave the warning through the Port Harcourt’s Zonal Head of the EFCC, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, when executives of Petroleum Tanker drivers of NUPENG paid him a courtesy visit.

EFCC spokesman, Tony Orilade in a statement quoted Bawa alleging that, “tanker drivers are increasingly getting involved in illegal oil bunkering crimes through product diversions and carriage of illegal petroleum products.”

He added, “Your members are being used for illegal diversion of products.

“Your organization is protecting criminals from being arrested and this is worrisome.

“Your organization, NUPENG is known for comradeship, not collusion. Right now, we have over 500 Trucks in our custody for investigation and possible prosecution on illegal oil bunkering. This is not good enough. You must desist from this practice”.

But Magu, Orilade said also charged the drivers to come forward with modalities of tackling illegal movements of their trucks in order to stem the tide of daily arrests.

“You can come up with how to monitor movements of your trucks. You can look into tracking of your trucks.

“It is obvious that those illegal oil bunkerers refining illegal products are in business because they are sure that your members are available to convey the products,” he said.

Further, the drivers were tasked to key into the whistle blowing policy of the government by offering useful information to the EFCC on the activities of drivers suspected to be fraudulent.

In his reaction, Chairman of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers, Comrade Ezenwa Kinglsley reportedly expressed appreciation to the EFCC for the visit.

According to Orilade, the chairman explained that NUPENG had never supported any of its members involved in products diversion or collusion with illegal oil bunkerers.

He said, “In all our meetings, we have a policy that the union can never cover up or associate with anyone caught in any illegality.

“We made billboards of culprits of product diversion. We have a Task Force checking any form of infraction by our members.

“Once you are caught, we will bring you out”.

Religion / Lessons From Ofe Onugbu At A Marriage Seminar. by HenryGee2310(m): 07:42 am On 4 Apr 2019
LESSONS FROM OFE ONUGBU AT A MARRIAGE SEMINAR

.................he came back from a meeting that fateful day and informed his wife that the next meeting of Good Brothers London Branch will be in their house. It was now his turn to host them. He added that *the people have demanded to eat special OFE ONUGBU for entertainment.*🥘

On the day of the meeting, she went to Nigerian market to purchase the items to make the Onugbu Soup🥘 for the guest who are well respected personalities, highly placed individuals with profound integrity.

She entered the kitchen and started making the food, while the husband went out to get other important items for the meeting. Lo and behold, the people have started arriving.

Just as they have settled down and waiting for entertainment, the wife whispered to the husband who just arrived and was saluting the people's with great excitements with handshake in turns telling them that the food was ready........

Wooow!! He was so excited the more... As the custom demands that food should be presented before everything thing.

The husband then accompanied her to the kitchen, decided to taste the soup before hand.

It happened that this woman just got the Onugbu (bitter leaf) straight from the market without knowing that onugbu must be boiled and squeezed out part of the bitterness very well before putting into the soup. She just sliced them like that and put them directly into the soup. The husband became dumbfounded, not knowing what to do!!

Suddenly, a thought crept to his mind, though he didn't disclose nor say anything to the wife who was believing the cooked soup to be the best, and to her, that's indeed it going to be *"a delicious bitter leaf".*

He said, honey, please could you take up the fufu pot to the dining for the visitors while I assist you to carry the soup pot?

She accepted.

Just as they were approaching the center table, *he intentionally double crossed his legs, and fell down fatally, and the whole soup poured out and wasted to the ground.*

The people started shouting: sorry, sorry sorry oh my God, oh my God. Hope you're OK, no injury, etc, this delicious soup wasted. Oh nooh. Sorry sir.. And helping him to stand up... Eventually, the people ended up taking only the drinks alone and left with joy and showing pity for the man.

However, the wife was very angry shouting at him, you are just a devil, who came to ruin my happiness, look how honoured I could have been before this people, you just wasted my soup. This wicked man.

The man didn't answer nor respond anything to her wife. But was very happy that the wife integrity and respect was wittily, handsomely and smartly rescued. The woman continued to Abuse the husband with razor blade mouth.

Later in the night while they have slept and woke up, the husband quietly said to the wife, *darling, do you really know what happened yesterday, I intentionally poured out that Soup to protect your integrity. The soup could have brought a big Shame to them. And told her the soup was very bitter and no one could have eaten such a bitter Soup. Probably you forgot to wash out the bitter leaf properly before putting it into the soup

There she fell down and started crying and begging the husband for forgiveness... And, the Love for the husband increased the more.

*LESSONS TO LEARN FROM THIS:*

1. Take all possible risk to protect your spouse, you're his or her shield.

2. Women, not all your men action is against your happiness.

3. Men, don't talk back at your angry Wife, her ears are always at her back whenever she is so provoked.

4. Wise men talk quietly and reply to issues when the situation is calm.

MAY YOUR HOME AND FAMILY BE BLESSED TODAY.

NOW LET US PRAY
Every evil plan to waste my destiny on satanic gallows, be roasted by fire in Jesus Name.
Oh Lord my Father, let every evil tongue contending with the gate pass to my Promised Land, be utterly silenced and destroyed in Jesus Name.
I command fire and brimstone of the living God to burn into ashes every principality that has sworn that i would not be decorated in this life in Jesus Name.

The Federal Government has condoled with the family of the General Manager of the National Theatre, Dr Stella Oyedepo, who died in a road accident.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Mohammed, said her death has created a huge vacuum in the ecosystem of the nation’s creative industry.

He made the remark on Friday when he led the top management staff of the ministry on a condolence visit to the husband of the deceased, Dr Hezekiah Oyedepo, in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

“We were all shocked and short of words but we must just accept what God has destined to happen,” Mohammed was quoted as saying in a statement by his media aide, Segun Adeyemi.

He added, “But the good side is that Dr Oyedepo left a big imprint in the national ecosystem of the creative industry within the one year that she spent as the CEO of the National Theatre.

“We will continue to remember her enthusiasm, passion and her resolute decision to move the National Theatre and the creative industry as a whole to the next level.”

The minister informed the family that he has formally communicated the news of Dr Oyedepo’s death to the President and the Federal Executive Council.

He asked them to take solace in the fact that her legacy in creativity transcended the boundaries of the country.

Mohammed said, “I am glad that what she has done has gone beyond the shores of this country because when we hosted the 61st United Nations World Tourism Organisation Meeting (in Abuja), I think we gave every delegate this decorative kola, which was a product of her creativity.”

He, therefore, commended the husband of the deceased for his strength of character and faith, even as he mourned the loss of his wife.

The minister prayed that God would grant repose to the soul of the late GM and give her family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

In his response, Dr Oyedepo said the death of his wife was the biggest tragedy that has befallen the family.

He described her as his companion, confidante and partner for life who would be sorely missed by the family.

The deceased’s husband, however, noted that as a Christian, he was taught to always give thanks to God in every situation.

The elder brother of the husband and General Overseer of the Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, prayed for the family and the repose of the soul of Dr Oyedepo.

Leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide (ONYCW) has cautioned Igbo leaders against making divisive comments capable of destabilizing the unity of the country and portraying the tribal group in a bad light.

In a statement signed by the President, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the group said it supported the zoning arrangement made by the All Progressives Congress, APC, with respect to the leadership of the incoming National Assembly.

However, it demanded for the positions of Secretary to Government of the Federation and Deputy Senate President, saying the Igbo nation has competent men to fill these positions.

He said, “We want to caution Igbo leaders to desist from making unguarded comments capable of affecting the unity of Nigeria.”

“We know President Buhari’s victory in the just concluded election has retired some Igbo leaders from active politics. It ended some political dynasties in the South East, and threw up fresh opportunities for the youths. That is why those people are making disparaging comments.

“We are watching those elders keenly and may have no option than to sanction them if they continue to use the name of Igbo nation to discredit the good works of the president towards the Southeast.

“We support that Senate President should go to North East and Speakership to South West or North Central.

“We only demand for the position of Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Deputy Senate President. We have eminent personalities qualified for both Jobs. We advise Our people in the House of Representatives to Support the decision of APC leadership.

“We commend the South East governors-elect, and hereby urge implore them to make youths to constitute over 50% of their cabinets and also urge them to ensure that the new salary structure is implemented at the state levels.”

US Politics / Irony Of Life. by HenryGee2310(m): 03:32 pm On 4 Apr 2019
In 1892 at _Stanford University_ , an 18-year-old student was struggling to pay his fees. He was an orphan, and not knowing where to turn for money, he came up with a bright idea. He and a friend decided to host a musical concert on campus to raise money for their education.

They reached out to the great pianist *Ignacy J. Paderewski*. His manager demanded a guaranteed fee of $2000 for the piano recital. A deal was struck and the boys began to work to make the concert a success.
The big day arrived. But unfortunately, they had not managed to sell enough tickets. The total collection was only $1600. Disappointed, they went to *Paderewski* and explained their plight. They gave him the entire $1600, plus a cheque for the balance $400. They promised to honour the cheque at the soonest possible.

“No,” said *Paderewski*. “This is not acceptable.” He tore up the cheque, returned the $1600 and told the two boys: “Here’s the $1600. Please deduct whatever expenses you have incurred. Keep the money you need for your fees. And just give me whatever is left”. The boys were surprised, and thanked him profusely.
It was a small act of kindness. But it clearly marked out *Paderewski* as a great human being.
Why should he help two people he did not even know? We all come across situations like these in our lives. And most of us only think “If I help them, what would happen to me?” The truly great people think, “If I don’t help them, what will happen to them?” They don’t do it expecting something in return. They do it because they feel it’s the right thing to do.

*Paderewski* later went on to become the *Prime Minister of Poland*. He was a great leader, but unfortunately when the *World War* began, *Poland* was ravaged. There were more than _1.5 million people starving in his country, and no money to feed them_ . *Paderewski* did not know where to turn for help. He reached out to the *US Food and Relief Administration* for help.
He heard there was a man called *Herbert Hoover* — who later went on to become the *US President*. *Hoover* agreed to help and quickly shipped tons of food grains to feed the starving *Polish* people.
_A calamity was averted_ .*Paderewski* was relieved.

He decided to go across to meet *Hoover* and personally thank him. When *Paderewski* began to thank *Hoover* for his _noble gesture_ *Hoover* quickly interjected and said, " *You shouldn’t be thanking me Mr. Prime Minister. You may not remember this, but several years ago, you helped two young students go through college. I was one of them* .”

_The world is a wonderful place. What goes around comes around. Please help others to the best of your ability. In the long run you may be helping yourself. God never forgets anyone who sows a good seed in other people, never_ .

*Nothing in nature lives for itself. Rivers don't drink their own water. Trees don't eat their own fruit. Sun doesn't give heat for itself. Flowers don't spread fragrance for themselves. Living for others is the rule of nature. And therein lies the secret of living* .

If you find this useful please pass it on.

It's reported In a court in Congo today of an accused who stood in the dock and addressed the magistrate: 'My lord, I am very sorry for not attending court sittings for the last one month. I was tested positive for Ebola. I was at the isolation center in the village receiving treatments. I have just been discharged. (He then started moving towards the magistrate to show his body to him). The magistrate shouted, "Hold it there. Your case is adjourned to next year. In fact, if you wish, don't ever come here again." When the magistrate looked down, the court was empty🏃🚴🏃🏃 Come and see speed 🏃🏃🏃🏃. Even the prosecutor couldn't afford to wait. Life is more precious than litigation 😂😂😂😂

Laughter is good for health o, but don't laugh alone pass it on.

Price of fuel was 87 naira and minimum wage was 18,000 naira.
18,000÷87=206.8965517 litres ( meaning your minimum wage can only buy you 207 litres of fuel)

30,000÷145= 206.8965517 litres (meaning your minimum wage can only buy you 207 litres of fuel) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 exactly the same amount even to the last decimal point.

World Politics / As The North Goes Under. by HenryGee2310(m): 03:15 pm On 4 Apr 2019
Don't Skip this 👇
-----------------------
AS ‘THE NORTH’ GOES UNDER

The visit to Zamfara State in 2014 was at once frightening, sobering and demoralising. Though seated in a sprawling parlour with massive chairs, we were all unconsciously in a huddled position, as the then Secretary to the State Government explained how he abandoned his farm and ranch because of cattle rustling and fear for his personal safety. Zamfara was at the mercy of the elements and it was impossible to deploy law enforcement agents, even for himself, in any meaningful way. He talked about the humiliating experience some of the men were often subjected to by the bandits. They would take a man’s cattle and probably some of his wives and then still make him drive the cattle for quite a distance into the wilderness for them, before allowing him to go back home, alone.

Our visit to the state agricultural and animal husbandry project revealed some of the neatest looking cows and animal any of us had ever seen. There weren’t even animal droppings in the place. Why would cows in a local facility be looking like they came from a car wash? Then it hit some of us: the animals, not more than seven in number, were procured on the day of our planned visit and stationed for our viewing.

We eventually met with the governor. My first question to him before things became somewhat more formal was whether he was related to Sule Lamido, the Jigawa State governor. The physical resemblance was not just striking but totally and mercilessly so. He answered in the negative and observed that he has had to answer that question more times than he could remember. The man did not resemble Lamido in his performance in office, though. A visit to Jigawa State revealed a great contrast. The foresight, robust planning and incredible infrastructural strides of Lamido will leave you with one question: “what was this state before Lamido’s tenure.” But let us not digress.

The Zamfara State governor’s comments about his state and the misfortunes of his people centred around “derivation,” as a lot of gold was mined in the state and carted away while his people were ravaged by poverty. He said that “Abuja people” and other big men and their Chinese collaborators controlled the place. There was also talk about heavy gold hauls on several fronts, including occasional use of helicopters for minor quick evacuations on Thursdays. It was also a sorry tale of lamentations when we met his commissioners, who all seemed not to really have anything to do. It was written all over them. The ones we tried to engage in brief private banter about their portfolios had little to say. Their being called together to meet with our team from the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies was like a major international event.

The smell of death hung in the air everywhere at the once-vibrant textile mill in the state. It had enough electricity generating capacity to serve the entire state but, like the textile mill itself, the generators were severely underutilized. It was producing nothing, except for some bales of raw cotton it was milling for some local farmers. Listening to the very professional gentleman who gave the history of the mill, its capacity, its impact on unemployment and the local economy before it went under, left everyone with goose bumps. He lamented the decades of neglect. He also had a detailed breakdown of what it would take to revive the textile mill. But he had no answer to the competition from cheaper imported materials, especially from China and Korea.

The dam in the state was in a grievous state of neglect. It had been for decades. It displaced more people and communities than was anticipated by the original Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) that preceded its construction. But most of such the displaced persons were not compensated. The swathes of lost farmlands, homesteads and local economies wrecked by all this was a matter of indifference to the powers that be, even at the time. There was this eerie air about the entire state, as there were only very few people on the streets at any time of the day. Shops rarely opened before 9.30a.m and would close sometime around 5p.m.

Then we visited Bukuyum, one of the holy lands of Zamfara’s gold production. The place was dull, drab and dreary. The few local people around had an inexplicable wan look about them. You could touch the poverty in the air. Then were taken to the local government headquarters to wait for the local government chairman. He arrived nearly an hour later in a whirl of dust. As he emerged from his impressively brand new Nissan Armada SUV, impeccably well dressed in high profile Agbada and looking every bit like an emperor from some foreign land, I knew that all might not be well with the people of Bukuyum and Zamfara State in general for a long time to come. This man was a stranger here, as defined by his lifestyle, but the people were happy to see him and clear the way for him.

We were well received, but we did not feel well about our reception. There were just too many tattered looking young and not so young adults everywhere. The refreshment we were given was raided partly by some hungry bystanders and by some of those who helped in serving the food. Whatever was available was appropriate for serving the food and some of us were advised to eat rice with our bare hands in the absence of enough spoons. We couldn’t. The scariest element of it all was that it all seemed very normal to the people from the area. Such grinding poverty! Such disconnect from the 21st century! Such shameless leadership! Such reprobate guardians of the commonwealth!

This is the state that registered only 28 candidates for admission into secondary school. Meanwhile only 24 Zamfara students passed the last National Common Entrance Examinations (NECO). Is this how the state will become part of tomorrow’s world? Some other northern states have a better record, with 50 and even more. But how does the total number of registered candidates from the 19 states of the north make sense in an examination that registered nearly 25,000 candidates from 36 states and the FCT?

And the relentless, daily killings are going on in all the northern states, while everyone thinks that power resides in the north today. It does not. Real power is seen in the level of living and social stability. The northern political elite would seem to have been diligently digging its own grave for quite some time now, but without knowing it. They have allowed a new breed of wild youths, not sufficiently socialised even in line with the ‘Ranka dede’ culture to acquiesce in want and deprivation, to become dominant. Drugs, poverty, motiveless criminality and rapacious daredevilry have chased all the northern big men to Abuja. But for how long will they be in exile? Is Abuja itself still safe? Are some high profile estates and exclusive neighbourhoods in Abuja not being quietly attacked these days?

Property rates have crashed beyond measure all over the north. Investors have fled. Local economies have collapsed. Re-desertification has taken over many places, as farmlands and animal husbandry are abandoned. Proceeds of crime have become the new means of livelihood for a new majority, who now pose a threat to the children and peace of mind of those who had the chance to make a difference but failed to do so. No one can see it clearly enough for now, but it is there. A mocking skull and demeaning emptiness! An unchartered malignancy that can best be described as a sickness unto death.

I listened with a mixture of dismay and consternation to a former, very highly respected, National Security Adviser at a stakeholders event he convened in Abuja on the herdsmen and kidnapping menace now plaguing the nation; and particularly North. He told us about his several meetings with kidnappers on various major routes and how they explained to him why nobody could ever come after them in the forest and hope to get out alive. He talked about the ready availability of AK47 rifles to every male as from the age of 14, the fact that kidnapping had become the quickest way of raising money to buy more cattle and improve their social status – since your pre-eminence is closely tied to the number of cows you owned. But the elders in the place were now worried that the younger elders no longer listened to them and were doing things they would not have contemplated themselves. Thus that even their free-band society was collapsing before their very eyes.

What really killed it for the retired soldier was when it was time for the afternoon prayers. Majority of these “Muslims” did not understand why he called for prayers. He also observed that many actually did not know how to pray. That was when a dreadful realisation hit him. The people he had come to see were ethnic Fulanis and lived the traditional nomadic life. But they did not understand the concept of kith and kin beyond their small hunting bands and immediate offsprings. He was horrified. Spread out before him were degenerate marauders who knew nothing about modern statehood, law and order etc.!

And it is in the midst of the foregoing that we are speaking of the abatement of the madness in the land? How? The late Abubakar Rimi would probably still be alive today if he had not encountered his ‘brothers’ on a lonely road in the dead of night. He spoke to them in Fulfulde. He even tried to reason with them about the wrongness of their “line of work”. Did they listen to him? Did they not still rob him? Was it not out of some inverted respect that they spared his life, after warning him to keep his preachment to himself as they were simply trying to “make a living” and feed their families?

The North is in trouble – and the rest of the nation with it. A region that has the highest allocation from oil revenue, the highest earnings from tax mostly paid by other regions, the highest earning from bunkering and the highest earnings from the illegal mining of gold and other natural resources, is ravaged by poverty, underdevelopment and a burgeoning population of unemployable youths. Is this right? Is this normal? Is anyone paying attention – as the North goes under?

Religion / What's Your Focus In Life:your Problems Or Purpose? by HenryGee2310(m): 08:31 am On 4 Apr 2019
*WHAT'S YOUR FOCUS IN LIFE: YOUR PROBLEMS OR PURPOSE?*

_This testimony has blown me apart. May I live for Him alone not for the things of this world._
_Read it soberly...._
__________

*_--In the interview by *Paul Bradshaw* with *Rick Warren,*_

Rick said:
*--People ask me, What is the purpose of life?*

*--And I respond:*
In a nutshell, life is preparation for eternity. We were not made to last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven.

--One day my heart is going to stop, and that will be the *end of my body*-- but not the *end of me.*

--I may live *60 to 100 years on earth*, but I am going to spend *trillions of years in eternity.*
This is the warm-up act --the dress rehearsal. God wants us to practice on earth what we will do forever in eternity..

--We were made by *God and for God*, and until you figure that out, life isn't going to *make sense.*

--Life is a series of problems:
*Either you are in one now,* OR *you're just coming out of one,* OR *you're getting ready to go into another one.*

--The reason for this is that *God is more interested* in *your character* than *your comfort;* God is more interested in making *your life holy* than He is in making *your life happy.*

--We can be *reasonably happy* here on earth, but that's not *the goal of life.* The goal is to grow in *character, in the prophet (saw) likeness.*

--No matter how *good* things are in your life, there is always something *bad* that *needs to be worked on.*

--And no matter how *bad* things are in your life, there is always something *good* you can *thank God* for.

--You can focus on *your purposes*, or you can focus on *your problems:*

--If you focus on your problems, you're going into *self-centeredness*, which is my problem, my issues, my pain. *But one of the easiest ways to get rid of pain is to get your focus off yourself and onto God and others.*

--We need to ask ourselves: Am I going to live for possessions? Popularity?

--Am I going to be driven by pressures? Guilt? Bitterness? Materialism? am I going to be driven by God's purposes (for my life)?

--When I get up in the morning, I sit on the side of my bed and say, God, if I don't get anything else done today, *I want to know You more and love You better.*

God didn't put me on earth just to fulfill *a to-do list.* He's more interested in *what I am* than *what I do.*

--That's why we're called *human beings*, not *human doings.*

--Happy moments, *PRAISE GOD.*
--Difficult moments, *SEEK GOD.*
--Quiet moments, *WORSHIP GOD.*
--Painful moments, *TRUST GOD.*
--Every moment, *THANK GOD.*

*--If you do not pass it on, nothing will happen.*

But it will just be nice to pass it on to friends...

*Just like I have done now.*

World Politics / Who Signed The Amalgamation Documents In 1914? by HenryGee2310(m): 07:40 am On 4 Apr 2019
Nigerians, who signed the amalgamation documents in 1914?

On October 1, 2017, a very brief post lightly circulated on Facebook. I didn’t really take it seriously even though I made some comprehensive comments under some two different names that carried it. However, as days went by, I kept seeing the post re-circulated and shared to the extent of meeting it again in a Whatsapp group.

Initially, I was overwhelmed by the volume of ignorant takes that trailed the post. In fact, in one of the posts where I commented in my effort to educate folks, I was ridiculed but I was firm enough to engage the disagreeing interlocutors and argue my points out.

The said post goes thus:

“If zik was born 1904, Awolowo 1909, Ahmadu Bello 1910, Tafawa Belewa 1912, M. Okpara 1920 who agreed and signed 1914 amalgamation?”

To this, there were two groups of reactionaries. The first were youths in their 20s and 30s — people of my generation. They were expressing surprise and awe at such a “smart” question which nobody can decode or would be a hard nut to crack. Immediately, I saw the devastating effect of their poverty of historical knowledge and consciousness ably facilitated by the Nigeria Establishment over the years through direct and indirect cancelling out of history studies in our formative stages. The second group included middle-aged people who have some appreciable knowledge or answer to the question but are insistent on knowing the “signatories” at the amalgamation. As a teacher, I have the habit of never taking any question for granted or useless because there might be that one person in the crowd struggling taciturnly to know and understand something that might illuminate his/her mind in the process. So, I’m making a few points—mainly to raise more discussions rather than lump my takes—as regards that post in the interest of those who don’t know but are interested in knowing or augmenting the clarity of what they know.

1. “Nigeria” – as a word or a place – was never instituted with the consent of our forefathers when it came into being at the dawn of 19th century (remember the Berlin Conference of 1885-6 that officially gave British the geographical dominance) as well as the beginning of 20th century (creation of the Southern and Northern Protectorates in 1900). Note also that the present core North was formerly called “Western Soudan” until 1900. The people presently answering and have answered “Nigerians” up till today merely inherited a business/colonial empire belonging to the British people and were forced to make a “nation” out of it unlike, say, Americans that wiped off their colonial legacy and were fully involved in renegotiating their country to what THEY WANT! Ever notice how America has quietly yanked off anything “British” in their march through history such that many young Africans are always surprised to learn that the same Britain that colonized them colonized America too?!

2. It is funny how many Nigerian folks see Zik, Awo and Bello as some “old” forefathers. Hello, these men were born at the beginning of 20th century—not so long ago! They were just of the generation of my grandfather and uncles. Such persons need to realize that Nnamdi Azikiwe’s father was a clerk to the British masters who never allowed them acquire education beyond what is equivalent to today’s Primary school studies. Even Zik’s father and his generation (born in the 19th century) didn’t fully appreciate what “amalgamation” implied as they were merely servants of their British masters who were running a business for the Colonial Office in London using a large field called “Nigeria”. By 1920s, Zik himself began to understand the complexity of the world around him and it took him many years between the 1920s and 1930s to acquire the weapon to fight the Establishment. Then another round of 20 years between the 1940s and 1960 to consummate that dream. Same can be said of Obafemi Awolowo. Slightly, same can be said of Bello for he was only a product of the “British affection” for the ‘loyal North’ that doesn’t want to threaten its religious institutions with the influx of Western civilization. One must note that all the British officers who served in the North were all men who had served in the Malayan and Strait States where Islamism was the core culture/religion. They were carefully selected to perpetuate the servility and docility of the Northern Islamic culture in the ‘future interest’ of the British—that is today’s Fulani Hegemony in the Nigerian Political power matrix.

3. There were only 28 persons involved in the so-called “amalgamation” of January, 1914. While 6 persons were Nigerians, the rest were British including Frederick Lord Lugard himself, Lewis Harcourt (the secretary of state for the colonies whose name Port-Harcourt city took after leaving the original “Igweocha/Obumotu”) and other European officers in charge of the two Protectorates. The following were the ONLY “Nigerians” officially involved in the amalgamation signage:

• A lawyer, Sir Kitoyi Ajasa (representing the African community in Lagos as a Legislative Council member of the Colony since 1902). Lagos was mainly for the British. Then the rest were summed up as “African community” which included the returnee slaves of Sierra-Leone, Nigerians themselves, Ghanaians, etc.
• His Highness, Oladugbolu (Alaafin of Oyo)
• Hon. R Henshaw (Obong of Calabar)
• Hon. Maiturare (Sarkin Mussulumi and Sultan of Sokoto)
• Hon. Abubakar (Shehu of Borno)
• Hon. Usuman (Emir of Kano)

Note, from the above, that there was no Igbo traditional ruler involved. Not even the Eze Chima of Onicha those days. The Aro Expedition that was the final conquest of Igboland had happened 12 years earlier between 1901 and 1902 as the British Indirect treachery had been fiercely resisted by the Igbo people in the late 19th century. Again, note that there was more Fulani/Northern presence than any other “Nigerians” in the signage. The “pact” between the British and the Northern Oligarchy had been sealed for over a century and what we complain of today should never be a surprise to anyone who knows history. We are merely slaves living out the dreams and arrangement of unconcerned bourgeoisies—by sheer force!

4. By the time Zik had acquired enough weapons to lead the war against the British continued imperialism in the so-called Nigeria, the whole moribund arrangement had existed for more than 30 years. How many persons had been educated enough at that time? Only a few! Michael Okpara was even just a very young man at the time. The only visible result they could make out of the whole complication was Independence. Today, that Independence is only 57 years old {with over 50 years of nothing to show and 3 years of war from it all}.

5. In conclusion, those who see Zik, Awo, Bello, Balewa, Okpara, etc as some ancestral forefathers and architects of this whole impossible behemoth should realize that these men met an arrangement that had existed for about 40 years—an arrangement far older than them. They spent the rest of their lives trying to make sense of it. That’s all! When people of Nigeria say “I love Nigeria” and all the attendant shallow emotional similarities, do they really know what they love? Do they know its form, origin, the pacts of its workings and its future? Certainly not! No honest person who appreciates these things easily proclaims love for Nigeria. S/he, at best, remains silent. The Colonial Machine it is, has been and still continues. I hope this gives some answer and clarity to the above post and the needless but instructive contentions that trailed it.

World Politics / Salis,ad File Application To Bar Sanwo-olu's Inauguration. by HenryGee2310(m): 07:38 am On 4 Apr 2019

Salis, AD File Application To Bar Sanwo-Olu’s InaugurationBy Mod - 15 minutes ago - [ Update Politics ]

A governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr Owolabi Salis, and his party, Alliance for Democracy (AD), have filed an application seeking to stop the swearing-in of Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the executive governor of Lagos State on May 29.

Salis and his party file the application on Thursday at the Lagos State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Ikeja.

The applicants asked the Tribunal to restrain the Chief Judge of Lagos, Justice Opeyemi Oke, from swearing-in the Governor-elect, pending the determination of the petition which was already before the Tribunal.

They filed the application pursuant to Section 6 Subsection (6b) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), and Paragraph 47 Subsections 1,2, and 3 of the First Schedule of the Rules of Procedure for Election Petitions 2010 (as amended).

The applicants alleged amongst other things that Mr Sanwo-Olu has a criminal record in the United States, and that he was of unsound mind.

They, therefore, asked the Tribunal to disqualify him from being sworn-in as governor.

Mr Sanwo-Olu, the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and INEC’s Resident Election Commissioner in Lagos, were listed as respondents to the application.

Other respondents included the Returning Officer for the Lagos State Governorship Election, the Commissioner of Police in the state, and the Nigerian Army.

The AD candidate was accompanied to the court by the candidate of the Labour Party, Professor Ifagbemi Awamaridi, who also contested the governorship election held on March 9, 2019.

US Sets To Bar Chechnya PM Over Alleged Human Rights ViolationsBy Mod - 17 minutes ago - [ Update Politics ]

The United States said Thursday it would bar the entry of Chechnya’s prime minister for allegedly orchestrating human rights violations in the Russian republic.

Under a US law that requires activity against remote authorities over human rights concerns, the United States reported that Chairman Muslim Khuchiyev and his close family will be ineligible for US visas on the off chance that they apply.

The State Department said in an explanation that it had "solid data that Muslim Khuchiyev was engaged with torment."

Chechnya's genius Moscow dictator pioneer Ramzan Kadyrov a year ago raised Khuchiyev, already the city hall leader of the Chechen capital Grozny which was diminished to rubble when Russia pounded two rebel wars that left many thousands dead.

While the Muslim-greater part republic has to a great extent been placated, Chechen specialists have still occupied with unlawful captures, torment and extrajudicial killings, as indicated by a report a year ago by the Organization for Security and Co-activity in Europe.

The open assignment comes in the midst of a large number of cracks among Russia and the United States, which has squeezed President Vladimir Putin over Moscow's help for separatists in Ukraine and claimed obstruction in US races.

Fatigue and Emotional Stress Responsble for Police Officers' Misuse of Firearms - IGP AdamuBy Mod - 52 seconds ago - [ Update Must Read ]

Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr Adamu Mohammed, while delivering a speech at the maiden conference of Heads of Nigeria Police Medical Facilities in Abuja has attributed the misuse of firearms and powers by officers of the Nigerian Police force to fatigue and emotional stress.

“Indeed, arguments have been raised that the resonating incidents of misuse of firearms and extra-judicial actions by police personnel often result directly from work-related stress and emotional conditions which disorient their rationality.

“In consideration of this, I have ordered that with immediate effect, the shift duty structure of the Nigeria Police which is currently a 12-hour, two-shift system be reverted to the traditional eight-hour, three-shift standard.

“This directive is specifically informed by the need to address a major, age-long occupational stress which long hours of duty engenders among personnel in the Nigeria Police Force and which occasions depression and abuse of power and other unprofessional conduct.

“For purpose of clarity, henceforth, no police personnel should be made to perform any duty exceeding eight hours within a space of 24 hours unless there is a local or national emergency.”

World Politics / Bola Ilori Tells Akeredolu To Leave Tinubu Out Of His Woes And Travails. by HenryGee2310(m): 07:26 am On 4 Apr 2019

Bola Ilori tells Akeredolu To Leave Tinubu out of His woes And TravailBy Mod - 3 minutes ago - [ Update Politics ]

Bola Ilori, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused the Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, of being the “spanner in the cog of wheel” of the state’s chapter of the ruling party.

Ilori, who was a former Commissioner for Regional Integration in Osun State under the Rauf Aregbesola administration, claimed that Akeredolu penchant for vendetta culminated into the unhealthy disunity and disharmony within the state chapter of the APC.

He emphasized that the governor’s travails were not caused by the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Ilori, an indigene of Ondo State, in a statement on Thursday, described the attitude of Akeredolu as too pedestrian, stressing that after two years of emerging as governor, he was still unsettled over the intra-party primary that preceded his tenure.

He maintained that the process that led to the emergence of Akeredolu as the party’s standard-bearer in 2016 was faulty; adding that the party’s Appeal Panel had annulled the primaries that produced Akeredolu due to what he described as “glaring fraud.”

He said, “Some of us could not stand such shenanigan led by Chief John Odigie-Oyegun. We followed the party’s internal mechanism, but it was unilaterally terminated by the then National Chairman.

“Subsequently, we left the party in the expression of our democratic rights on the platform of another party in agitation against the clear injustice. We lost the elections.

“It was well reported on national headlines that Akeredolu organized an attack on me at the venue of an official government assignment in Akure. We were to go to court, but some elders of the party led by Chief Bisi Akande, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Chief Pius Akinyelure and others intervened.

“They appealed to all aggrieved against the gubernatorial election processes to drop all further agitation and return to the party and embrace unity. The Governor thereafter organized a unity rally and I attended.

“Chief Olusola Oke has since been working hard for the success of the party and was the South West Coordinator of the APC Presidential Campaign, while I, who was his Director General in the AD was the Chairman of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (Field Operations) Door – Door Campaign throughout the Country.

“Akeredolu’s anti-party activity would have been justifiable as a payback were it to be that their mischiefs were directed against either Oke or Ilori, but neither of us was on the ballot but President Buhari and our National Assembly candidates. So, it was a deliberate sabotage against the fortune of the party.

“I laugh at how, in their confusion and desperate search for justification, they misguide themselves with falsehood and hope it will turn to truth in an era of Google Search Engine. Let me put it on record; if they are too lazy to Google, I was not holding any position in the party or government six months before and after the 2016 elections, contrary to their claims that I was in Osun Government while in AD, Osun had no cabinet for about 16 months at the time. So, dragging Aregbesola into their justification of treachery is not only based on falsehood but pure mischief”.

The statement added, “I also wish to place on the record that, as the Director General of the Alliance for Democracy campaigns in 2016, I don’t have any record of funding received from Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola or Senator Ajayi Boroffice for the AD. I dare Akeredolu and his team to come up with such fact.

“Let it be noted that neither Asiwaju Tinubu nor Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola directed us to the AD nor funded the party. They did not campaign for the party to the best of my record, also. If any of Akeredolu minions is in possession of substantive evidence against any of our leaders let such fellow come forward with it or forever keep their peace.

“We, as adults have rights to our independent actions and Asiwaju never encourage sycophancy, he promotes robust intellectual discuss and don’t see dissent as a crime, yet we voluntarily owe him in high esteem.”

Team Nigeria Recount How They Travelled For All Africa Games by RoadBy Mod - 6 minutes ago - [ Sport ]

Team Nigeria, represented by 85 athletes and 15 coaches recently returned from Abidjan, Ivory Coast where the All Africa Games was hosted. The team on returning told their experiences at the games. Nigeria finished overall third with medals while also breaking records, but the team have come out to say that the trip to Abidjan was nothing more than a sacrifice for the country.

Team Nigeria who traveled on land for three days to get to Abidjan and took another road trip back to the country stated their disappointments at the country, after it refused to provide them with the necessary funds to travel for the games.

“It was sad we left Nigeria for Abidjan without a kobo, but I must commend officials of the AFN, and the governments of Delta and Lagos states for providing some logistics for the team.

“Majority of our athletes must have gained a lot of exposure from the trip because it was the first time some of them traveled outside Nigeria. We finished third behind South Africa and Kenya in the overall medals table, but for us, it was more than the result. Exposure means a lot for young athletes, and that was our major gain from the trip to Abidjan,” Porbeni, an ex-Director of sports in Delta State stated.
